the son of man among his churches - revelation 1
John's Vision of Jesus... In the first chapter of Revelation, the Apostle John received a vision of Jesus in which He is revealed as the almighty king and all-powerful savior! Below are three ways we must respond to him.
Awestruck, Worship & Reverence... When John sees Jesus' power, he falls to his face as though dead (1:17). All throughout the Bible, people who see the Lord's glory fall to their faces in worship and fear. This is the only appropriate response to a king as mighty Jesus!
Confident Trust... After being knocked on his face, John is comforted by Jesus reaching out His hand and saying, "Fear not" (1:17). The counterbalance to our reverence and awe is the knowledge that Jesus has loved us and freed us from our sins by His blood (1:5).
Eagerness to Listen... Jesus instructs John to write down what is revealed to him (1:19) and we read that those who hear the words of this prophecy are blessed (1:3). Jesus' words are well worth writing down and listening to.
