What would jesus say about our church? wake up! - Revelation 3:1-6

A False Reputation... Sardis had a reputation for being alive but Jesus knew that they were actually dead. High attendance, nice buildings, numerous programs, busy calendar, and a good standing in the community may make a church look alive, but there can be no true spiritual life apart from the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Wake Up... Jesus instructs the Sardis church to wake up and strengthen what remains and is about to die. Jesus tells them to remember what they received and heard, to keep it, and to repent. All of these are a returning to the source of their true spiritual life- Jesus.

What's at Stake... A tragically rude awakening awaits the church ar Sardis if they continue to sleep- Jesus says He will come like a thief against them. But to the few who have remained faithful, Jesus promises to cloth them in white and to secure their names in heaven.
