The book of Exodus closes by telling of the completion of the Tabernacle along with its contents, the Ark of the Covenant, the table of showbread, the lampstand, the altar of incense, the altar of burnt offering, the bronze basin, the court, and the priestly garments. “And Moses saw all the work, and behold, they had done it; as the LORD had commanded, so had they done it. Then Moses blessed them” (39:43). And “the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle” (40:43).
David testified, “Blessed is the people of whom this is true; blessed is the people whose God is the LORD” (Psalm 144:15). Paul wrote, “We are the temple of the living God; as God said, ‘I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people’” (2 Corinthians 6:16). John tells us, “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God’” (Revelation 21:3). God is with us, now! And how we will rejoice when we see him face to face!
I will sing you a song of that beautiful land,
The far away home of the soul;
Where no storms ever beat on that glittering strand,
While the years of eternity roll.
While the years of eternity roll.
While the years of eternity roll,
Where no storms ever beat on that glittering strand,
While the years of eternity roll. -- Ellen M. H. Gates (1865)
