June 10, 2026 - Psalms 106-110

“Praise the LORD!  Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!  Who can utter the mighty deeds of the LORD, or declare all his praise?” (106:1-2)  The psalmist’s question reminds me of John’s closing words in his Gospel:  “Now there are also many other things that Jesus did.  Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written” (John 21:25).  What wonderful revelations God has given us!  He has spoken to us in his written Word and, “in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world” (Hebrews 1:2).  God has not left us alone.  He has spoken to us.  He has made himself known to us.  One of the things, I believe, we can look forward to, in heaven, is knowing even more.  Those books not written, mentioned by John, I suspect we will have access to in heaven, and those stories will cause us to marvel and worship our God and Savior even more.  For now, God has given us what we need to know, and that knowledge is wonderful.  Let us tell it!

Let us, with a gladsome mind,

praise the LORD, for He is kind:

for His mercies shall endure,

ever faithful, ever sure.

Let us blaze His name abroad,

for of gods He is the God:

for His mercies shall endure,

ever faithful, ever sure.

He with miracles doth make

heav'n and earth, amazed, to shake:

for His mercies shall endure,

ever faithful, ever sure.   -- John Milton (1623)
