A good word for today: “Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his commandments! His offspring will be mighty in the land . . . for the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord. His heart is steady; he will not be afraid” (112:1-2, 6-8). Tim Beougher texted me, yesterday morning, and let me know that little Annie Kate had a good night. She is stable, and the blood clots in her kidneys are gone. These have been very difficult days for Colin and Kari and the entire family. Tim wrote, “The clots are gone! Doctors are literally crowded outside of our door amazed with smiles on their faces, including the hematologist who scared us to death. Truly a miracle!” A family unmoved, firm, trusting in the Lord! All who know God as Father understand. We live in a world filled with troubles but to trust in the Lord, well, that’s a life well lived.
My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Savior divine!
Now hear me while I pray,
take all my guilt away;
O let me from this day
be wholly Thine.
While life’s dark maze I tread,
and griefs around me spread,
be Thou my Guide;
bid darkness turn to day,
wipe sorrow’s tears away,
nor let me ever stray
from Thee aside. -- Ray Palmer (1830)
