June 3, 2024 - Psalms 101-105

Updated: Jun 4, 2024

David’s psalm (103) is one of the sweetest to our ears.  He tells us:

  • The Lord forgives all our iniquity (3).

  • He redeems our life from the pit and crowns us with steadfast love and mercy (4).

  • The Lord is merciful and gracious (8).

  • He is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love (8).

  • The Lord does not deal with us according to our sins (10).

  • As far as the east is from the west, he removes our transgressions from us (12).

  • Like a father, the Lord shows compassion to us (13).

  • His steadfast love from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him (17).

Praise, my soul, the King of heaven;

to his feet your tribute bring.

Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven,

evermore his praises sing.

Alleluia, alleluia!

Praise the everlasting King!

Praise him for his grace and favor

to his people in distress.

Praise him, still the same as ever,

slow to chide, and swift to bless.

Alleluia, alleluia!

Glorious in his faithfulness!   -- Henry Francis Lyte (1834)
