May 11, 2026 - Job 1-3

Just a quick thought on the opening verses of Job:  “There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job, and that man was blameless and upright, one who feared God and turned away from evil” (1:1).  Better to accumulate a good reputation and to walk with God than to accumulate all the world’s riches.

One prayer I have,--all prayers in one,

When I am wholly Thine;

Thy will, my God, Thy will be done,

And let that will be mine.

All-wise, all-mighty, and all-good,

In Thee I firmly trust;

Thy ways, unknown or understood,

Are merciful and just.   -- James Montgomery (1830)
