“For you are my rock and my fortress; and for your name’s sake you lead me and guide me; you take me out of the net they have hidden for me, for you are my refuge” (32:3-4). à God protects his own but, also, in doing so his name is glorified. When we recount his mighty acts and blessings we are actually worshiping God.
“Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity” (32:1-2). à Because of Christ we can claim these blessings: we are forgiven, our sins are covered, and not charge of iniquity can be laid against us.
“The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples. The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations” (33:10-11). Let men plan and do what they will. God’s purposes will not be thwarted even, in the moment, it appears so.
“The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!” (34:7-8) à Isn’t this good to know!
I will bless the Lord at all times.
Praise shall always be on my lips;
my soul shall glory in the Lord;
for God has been so good to me.
Taste and see, taste and see
the goodness of the Lord.
Oh, taste and see, taste and see
the goodness of the Lord, of the Lord. --James E. Moore (1983)
