Hear the psalmist on the greatness of our God:
“For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised;
he is to be feared above all gods” (96:4).
“You, O LORD, are most high over all the earth;
you are exalted far above all gods” (97:9).
“Oh sing to the LORD a new song,
for he has done marvelous things!
His right hand and his holy arm
have worked salvation for him” (98:1).
“The LORD reigns; let the peoples tremble!
He sits enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake!
The LORD is great in Zion;
he is exalted over all the peoples.
Let them praise your great and awesome name!
Holy is he!” (99:1-3).
“Know that the LORD, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture” (100:3).
To God be the glory, great things He hath done,
so loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
and opened the life-gate that all may go in.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father through Jesus the Son,
and give Him the glory, great things He hath done. –Fanny Crosby (1875)
