“My mouth will tell of your righteous acts, of your deeds of salvation all the day, for their number is past my knowledge. With the mighty deeds of the Lord GOD I will come; I will remind them of your righteousness, yours alone” (71:15-16). The chorus of Randy Travis’ song “Forever and Ever, Amen” goes like this:
I’m gonna love you forever, forever and ever, Amen
As long as old men sit and talk about the weather
As long as old women sit and talk about old men.
You know, we talk about our favorite sports teams. We talk about one another. We talk about trips we have enjoyed. We talk about the latest movie we have seen. Old men talk about the weather. Old women talk about old men. J I certainly talk a lot about Indonesia. Seemingly, we talk about everything under the sun. We should be sure, though, that we are often talking about God and all his mighty and gracious acts. We have so much to be thankful for. Our conversations should be peppered with reminisces about what we have seen of God and his works.
My Savior, my almighty Friend,
When I begin Thy praise;
Where will the growing numbers end,
The numbers of thy grace?
How will my lips rejoice to tell
The vict’ries of my King!
My soul, redeemed from sin and hell,
Shall Thy salvation sing.
My tongue shall all the day proclaim
My Savior and my God;
His death has brought my foes to shame,
And drowned them in His blood. --Isaac Watts (1740)
